The Food and Drinks Federation wants to prevent all food waste going into landfill by 2015, they are closely involved with FareShare too
Over 4 million people in the UK cannot afford a healthy diet
The food collected and redistributed by FareShare in 2007 contributed towards 4.6 million meals, reaching an average of 25,000 people each day
70% of recipient organisations made savings due to the food received from FareShare, and were able to redirect these savings to other support services
